Internet Marketing Tools Like Tweetdeck

by Steve Shoemaker on September 3, 2010

%keywordInternet marketing tools like tweetdeck I sure do
love them.

I think some people think I am a little obsessed. I admit a fascination with shiny things but I’m hardly what I would call obsessed.

But moving along the other day I was trying to use another one of my favorite internet marketing tools LaterBro.com.

I like to automate facebook as much as possible to prevent a major time drain in my day. Another thing it seems to freeze up an awful lot so it also keeps down aggravation.

But anyway as internet marketing tools sometimes do LaterBro let me down. It seems something was wrong with the server or the API and I couldn’t schedule any messages into facebook to keep up a presence there before I actually log in to interact and check messages.

So with LaterBro down I thought no problem I will just use the handy internet marketing tool the facebook toolbar and do some updates that way.

But wait a minute I needed to get back to a possible client on twitter so it needs to be tweetdeck first check my dm’s then comeback to facebook and do some marketing there.

Then I remember tweetdeck is one of the few internet marketing tools you can interact on several social medias at one time.

All I need to do is add my facebook account add a column for facebook and voila I have command central right here at my finger tips.

What makes tweetdeck so different than most internet marketing tools is that not only can you send messages to social media sites you can interact from one place.

You can add a myspace, foursquare, linked in, google buzz, facebook and multiple twitter accounts making this one of the most versatile internet marketing tools around.

Not only that I found I can highlight my different accounts and post to them all at the same time making for some very interesting marketing ideas.

In addition with the new queue feature I can set up some automated messages for throughout the day and again schedule them to post to any if not all the above mentioned social sites at once.

Kind of like the onlywire of internet marketing tools wouldn’t you say?

Now if you are not sure on how to set this up check out this video on internet marketing tools.

I also would like to challenge to download and use it for awhile. If you do you will see 5 short videos that give you the basics of everything I covered in this post.

What internet marketing tools are you fond of?

I would like to read about it in the comment section or if you found this information useful please click on any of the facebook and twitter buttons you see.

Just always remember internet marketing tools shouldn’t do all the work just help you leverage and enhance your efforts thanks for reading.

Take Care,

Steve Shoemaker

Great post Steve. I downloaded TweetDeck about a month ago, and then quickly forgot about it as I got involved in another project. I need to dust it off and get the hang of it though because I seriously lapse on Twitter sometimes and there really is no excuse for it with a program like TweetDeck.

I don’t use TweetDeck, simply because it’s gonna be another tool to manage.. and check. But after reading this post, I might just consider it..

TweetDeck is awesome Steve and has pretty spectacular features. I have only used it a short time but have not had the chance to use all those features you mentioned. The videos will be very handy for me. TweeAdder is another tool I use to “stream” messages on Twitter but live interaction takes place on TweetDeck. Must get back to using these tools soon. TweetAdder 3 is out so I need to learn about the new interface.

Hi Dennis yes no question tweetdeck is a big part of my marketing as well. If you do have 10 minutes or so do check out the video I tried to cover a lot of the options as I could think of them. Tweetadder is great I just upgraded the new interface is pretty easy to navigate just remember some of the terms from the old interface and you will be fine. It actually looks a little more 2010 the old one was very 90′s looking to me. Not that it matters as long as it performs. Thanks so much for the visit and the comment take care.

I see your point Michael but the big difference with social oomph and the other service you mentioned is the lack of the ability for you to interact as well. You can go in a set everything up but you can see what happens when it actually hits the timeline.

What worked for me was putting in the time up front setting some things up and then tying it all together with tools like tweetdeck. To each his own and I can’t argue with a man definitely doing something right. Nice to hear one from the other side have a great weekend.

Hey Steve,

More nuggets from the toolbox! I’m glad you pointed out that Facebook and other sites can be plugged into Tweetdeck, I hadn’t realized that, so thanks! I love Tweetdeck for handling my DM’s and RT’s on Twitter. I didn’t notice the new automated message feature either, I wonder how it compares to Socialoomph?

I also use Tweepi for Twitter. Perhaps my favourite internet marketing tool is Market Samurai which is a ridiculously cool and useful keyword research tool, which I recommend wholeheartedly.

Cheers,
Jym

Jym no problem I have spent some time on tweet deck learning it. How it would compare to social oomph? Social oomph the last time I checked charges you 27.00 to use the queue feature where with tweet deck it is built in.

I like tweepi and highly recommend it also buzzom. I totally agree with you on market samurai I use it regularly and definitely recommend it. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Steve,

thanks for sharing that. TweetDeck is awesome. I turned off the acoustic notifications and go to it twice a day and walk through the columns and respond if necessary. I also use ping.fm and Socialoomph.

Take care

Oliver sounds like a great strategy you have there it’s very useful for consolidating everything so all you have to do is “walk” through every so often and interact with people. Thanks for dropping by.

Steve and his tools! :) I used to use Social Oomph but not so much now. I don’t like spending a lot of time working some of these tools.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey Mavis I totally understand you can spend a lot of time updating if your not careful. I put some time in upfront so I can use them for a minimal amount of time for maximum results it’s all about what you want or need for them to accomplish for you. Whatever your doing is working that is apparent take care.

Hello Steve The Tool Guy :)

I love Tweetdeck, but for now I just marvel at all looking at all of the messages fly by :)

My favourite tool has always been Google Reader linked to my ping.fm account.

Peter I’m glad that tweet deck is providing an alternate source of entertainment for you lol I don’t think that is what they originally intended but to each his own. The tool guy that would be a tough act to keep up but I have been on a tangent lately huh? Google reader I will have to check that out thanks for the tip and the visit.

Hi Steve,

I use socialoomph. So far, so good although sometimes it takes a while to do the updating. Using tools effectively lies in the art of making updates frequent enough to get clicks but infrequent enough to ensure you don’t spend all day sending out updates.

Your closing reminder should be kept in mind. Tools are for leveraging but you need to work at content creation and building relationships to become successful.

Thanks for sharing your take on the tools and enjoy your weekend.

Ryan I like the first part of your comment especially great philosophy for keeping everything in perspective. The tools are only a means to an end and that is to help you to communicate and share value in a more massive way. You can’t be everywhere at once. But your right again when you say it’s about building relationships and that is done with real interaction but sometimes automation when used properly can keep the flow going when you can’t be there or have other things to do. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Steve, I tried a couple of twitter automation tools – Social Oomph & Refollow as well as Twiends, but…I dunno – it seemed to me that I was spending MORE time managing those than it took to actually use Twitter!

So, I packed it in…do it the “hard”way still.

Obviously I still make use of my Getresponse autoresponder to automate my marketing to my list, as well as Talk Fusion to automate my video email autoresponders to another list. Talk Fusion is also able to submit my videos to multiple video sites as well.

While there is a lot to be said for automation, I do feel that one should not get too tied up in everything, otherwise you really aren’t saving yourself much time at all.

Stay inspired.
