Hootlet The Hootsuite Bookmarklet That Makes The Share Button Look Boring

by Steve Shoemaker on April 10, 2011

Hello ever hear about or use hootesuite?

%keyword

If your week has been crazy like mine this can be a life saver.

It’s a great way to manage different social media accounts from one place kind of like command central if you will.

At hootesuite you can interact and post to your different accounts maintenance type of stuff if you will it’s very convenient.

Well as I was making my usual rounds on hootesuite I found a little jewel kind of by accident. I haven’t been using hootsuite all that long consistently having just converted from tweetdeck.

But to make a long story short I found a great bookmarklet there called the hootlet and  love bookmarklets so I was intrigued.

This thing is awesome it gives you a lot of the functions you have at hootesuite for posting and syndicating and I have included a video showing you how it works.

Great little tool huh?

I will be using it for sometime to come I promise you.

Know of something similar or have any other internet marketing advice you would like to share?

Please do so in the comment section or click the facebook and twitter buttons you see.

Or hey use your new hootesuite hootlet!

Take Care,

Steve

Does tweetdeck have a feature like Hootlet? I can’t seem to find any info on this. I use that feature he most; but would like to use the FREE Tweetdeck over the Paid HootSuite, if I can. (I have more than 5 social media accounts to use the free Hootsuite).

Thanks.

Michelle unfortunately no it does not I used to use tweetdeck quite a lot myself. When you say the free tweetdeck vs. the paid hootesuite I would have another look hootesuite has a free version with a lot of great features that is why I switched ( and with twitter buying tweetdeck out it may lose a lot of it’s multi-network features)

Hey Steve

Hootsuite is great, I found them by accident quite sometime ago. Because as I am sure we all know by default keeping track of stuff and trying to find something in twitter is a royal pain. I was looking for something to keep stuff organized track clicks, RT and whatever else and they did it. If I find something better I just may switch.

Although I wish they had some more options, its too bad they went the way of paying for more options but it is what it is right. Of course like most things there are work arounds not many but a few.

I agree Cj but it still offers a great number of options with the free version to me. I mean the scheduling and being able to save post and tweets for later use has been a major time saver. As far as monitoring you get that for free as well. I think the paid version is to intergrate google analytics that is a little to involved for me anyhow. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Steve, I just wrote a blog post about another extension from Hootsuite. They just recently bought Twitterbar and renamed it Hootbar. With this new app you can send messages right from the navigation bar. Check out my post with the title “How to make your Twitter life easier”. I think you will like it.

Hi Steve,

I am so glad I found the link (because Debbie Lattuga shared it on Facebook)to this great tutorial.

It was really good to see hootsuit ‘in action’ through your tutorial and now I understand how it works I think I will use it. The hootlet bookmarking is a hoot too (LOL).

Thank You so much for sharing this!

I too discovered the Hootlet this week and another cool Twitter tool. It’s called Bufferapp and it’s free. You can set up 10 scheduled times to publish tweets, then you use something similar to the Hootlet to load up the buffer. Here’s a link http://bufferapp.com/r/58feb

hi Steve,
Hootsuite is a hoot – LOL! I love it although I confess there are many more creative ways to use it that I still haven’t taken time to learn. Mari Smith told me to use well over a year ago and it has taken me time to get around to it – pity I took so long. Hootsuite is one of those key tools that should be in very serious internet marketer’s tool-kits. Thanks for a great useful article, Steve!

Blessings

I’ve been using Hootsuite for a month now and I’m hooked! It truly is a very versatile application and it makes updating my social media profiles easy. Plus the little owl is so cute!

You did a great job of showing the power of Hootsuite, especially the feature that allows you to schedule posts. I usually set my tweets and status updates the day before and then I don’t have to worry about it.

I have to say I never heard of this tool until I received a communication from a friend which made a mention of this tool. I have been so busy lately and have not had any real time to investigate hootsuite as it seems that there is a learning curve involved in it, but you have encouraged me to do it now.

Thank you

Hi Steve,

Someone shared with me Hootsuite a few weeks ago, and I absolutely LOVE it! I love being able to schedule messages. I can now write my blog and schedule messages all in one time period, and still add to the messages throughout the week as I choose. Love, love, love it!!!

I didn’t know about the bookmark, though, so thanks for sharing that. I’m going to go and add it to my toolbar now :)
