Google and duplicate content.

This is still one of the most misunderstood aspects of marketing and content syndication for some people.

So let’s explain what duplicate content is…

Duplicate content is duplicated content on the same website.

Brief history about google and duplicate content. In an time long forgotten about 3 or 4 years ago there were marketers and website designers who trying to rank high in the SERP’s who would create different pages for their website and instead of using unique content would use duplicate content to have more pages indexed by google thus helping with their ranking and placement.

Why? Because google loves big sites with lots of pages they usually get the good ranking and are considered the authoritative sites citing this and other factors.

But as google and the algorithm got more advanced they started catching on to this tactic and began penalizing these sites thus the myth of google and duplicate content.

Well as I like to show you what I mean please watch this video on google and duplicate content….

Steve,

Thanks for sharing this with us.

This is really useful to some of the people that think they are
being sly with stealing content.

I have seen people take content and this puts the brakes on this.

Thanks Tommy its a shame people can’t think for themselves isn’t it. It is not the hardest thing in the world to come up with content.

Hi Steve… This is very helpful info! Like so many others, I have been wary of posting my content anywhere but on one site — my blog!

Thanks for sharing.

Great video Steve,
I’ve always been wary of getting slapped by Google for violating the duplicate content rule. Guess I never really understood it…but now I do. This info gives me the confidence to spread (share) my content on different platforms; something that I was always reluctant to do before watching your video. I’ll be back for more of your great advice.

Hey Steve! Useful info indeed. Actually a lot of people out there don’t make the difference between duplicate content and content syndication. The only way for Google to notice you is actually to put your content in different websites :)
