How To Add A iframe Tab To Your Facebook Like Page With This WP Plugin

by Steve Shoemaker on March 14, 2011

Hey guys how are you hope you had a great weekend.

I have been playing around with some of this facebook iframe stuff different templates, WSO’s and a great plug in that I want to talk about today.

This is by far the easiest of anything I have used and I am really pleased with the results.

The video is a little long but I promise by the end you will have the plug in set up and will be able to create your application needed to add the tab to your page.

Grab a drink and chips and enjoy the show…

Pretty easy isn’t a couple of changes I made to the page after the video. I got rid of the digg digg plug in and I added a like button.

If you have the digg digg plug in and want to leave it thats fine. I got rid of it for mainly aesthetics thought it pushed the content to far under the fold for me it’s a personal choice.

By the way this doesn’t affect your plug ins for your normal post.

Find the Show Advanced button click then make these changes in the first 2 categories. (This is to disable the digg digg you will have to experiment for other plug ins.)

Find Show Advanced in the first section select dd_content_hook. In the second section select dd_print_css

And you should be good sorry for no screen shots they kept acting up.

Have any suggestions or experiences with new iframe?

Would love to hear them and any other internet marketing advice in the comments below.

If you found this helpful please click on the facebook and twitter buttons you see.

Also check the final results of the like page tab.

Thanks so much for the visit.

Hi Steve,

I’m sure everyone else already knows what the FB tab is, but I’m not sure. Obviously the tabs in FB are “Photos, Info,” etc., so could you please tell me the big picture here? The tab buttons are small — so I’m wondering why you want an image or another creation on it. Or are you talking about something else? This is not critical. I simply don’t know!

Sure Sherry I would be glad to. The point of the tab is that if configured correctly when someone lands on your like page and have not liked your page they will come to this designated landing page where they will be asked to like the page and if you choose you can have an opt in form in place to take their information for a most of the time free offer that they would like. Quite a unique feature no other social media site really allows that. Also they can just be extra “pages” if you will on your like page with additional info and offers. Hope that helps.

So the “tab” isn’t a tab at all, but a “page.” And it becomes the landing page for those who have not opted in. Ok, if that’s it, I get it.

And your comment about deleting the Digg Digg was on FB and not WordPress? I didn’t even know one could put Digg on FB!

Yes Sherry that would be the best way to explain it as another page on a website or blog. As far as the content not sure how that happened! Thanks for the heads up.

Steve, I’ve got my glass of water & crave blocker bar in hand.
Thanks for teaching me more about this WP plugin. :)

I appreciate the time you took to put this video training out.
(Out of experience, I know it took more then 19 minutes to put it all together). I’ve been playing around with the Social Networks Academy iframe template, and this post really gave me some great new ideas.

I know SEO traffic isn’t everything, but you may want to consider including the name of the wordpress plugin “Facebook Tabs” and the word “Facebook Iframe” in the title and the body of the article. I checked Google and I could not find a better tutorial then this one, these keywords will help drive more traffic to your blog. If you check Google Keyword Tool, you’ll notice the word “Facebook Iframe” has 33,000 searchs with almost NO competition. It’s a literal gold mine :)

Thanks again !!

Marlon you know you have to do what works for you. If blogger is getting your message out then that is great. I just read a post of yours and the blog is very clean and nice and looks good but yes as far as plug ins like this and onlywire there are some bonuses that you don’t get.

It keept me updated on what an iframe is and you also went out of your way to show us step by step on how to actually add and implement it to our pages! Thanks, Steve!

Hi Steve,
What I don’t like about Facebook buttons is that they slow down the loading speed of my website. I tried several solutions but they are very important and can’t miss from there.
Great video, I still use the digg digg plugin but I’ll consider some other options.
I love your website, some really great stuff here, it’s always a pleasure to come back.
Take care,
George

George the reason I got rid of the digg plug in on the iframe is purely how it looked. I definitely use it on my post and pages but when I published the page I didn’t like what I saw on facebook.

Radu the change I made with the plug in was a to not include it on the iframe I published not taking it off post and pages on my blog. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Thank you for your YouTube video on how to add a Facebook like page to my Tweet Deck program.

I am curious as to what software you used to record the video on your PC with audio.

I could use this for my own site.

Many thanks,
Marcel
